Why do this...

Why would a CPA create a blog?  CPA's don't blog.  We do spreadsheets and calculators and look at your feet during conversations.  In short, I'm scratching my own itch.  I'm a CPA by accident.  I did not go to college to be an accountant nor a CPA, yet for 10+ years, that is what I've been.  I have worked from 1st year associate to now being a partner in a regional firm.  Over the past 10 years, I've changed, my firm has changed, my clients have changed, technology has changed, and the accounting landscape has changed tremendously.  What has not changed is the fact that there are limited resources available to we CPA's who think outside of the box, who think about more than our net fees or billable hours, who don't quite fit in with the firm.......and for those reasons are increasingly valuable (or so we think) to our firms.  This site is me scratching an itch, wanting to touch those in public accounting that don't quite fit in.  Those who want to be partners in their firms, but not like the partners they currently work for.

As is everything else in the world, the accounting profession is changing.  Lets walk through it together.
